Non Feeder

zugzug31 Mar 07, 2007 07:40 PM

Its been a while since I have posted anything because frankly I have not had any problems. Recently this is not the case. I have about a 2 year old snow that ate every week on a regular basis and was a monster at eating. I forgot to feed it 3 weeks ago so I just waited till the next week and it refused. Usually this means it is getting ready to shed, but this time no such luck. I tried to feed it agian today and once again it refused. I normally feed it 2 weanlings a week, but it hasnt ate in 3 weeks. I have no changed anything in the cage or its setup. One thing I have notice is in the past 3 weeks it has been extremely active. Anyone have any suggestions or just keep trying every week?

Thanks in advance,
Don

Your snake is looking for some "action", as in "booty call"!LOL .......this is prime time for this to happen, and many male snakes forget about everything else, except sex!!!.........Doug

Well I was unsure on its sex so maybe its a male then?

Yeah,.....you're describing VERY typical behavior for males this time of year !!...don't eat, very active....means only one thing in the springtime!!!.................................Doug

Ok well now I know. Just weird cause this is the first time Ive seen it. I have 3 more young ones and they dont do this yet.

Yeah,....when you mentioned in your previous post that it was two years old, everything "fell" into place, as he is just reaching maturity this year,...best regards,..............Doug

So I guess my next question is how long until I can feed him again. Im not worried about him since hes been doing very well. Just kinda curious as to how long before he settles down and I can feed him again.

You should offer food every week or every week and a 1/2. just in case his hunger for food kicks back in
