snake trouble

raljiktar Mar 07, 2007 08:39 PM

ok, long sotry short. my ex, got a snake, mom freaked out. dumped the snake at my placed, got dumbed, and now stuck with snake.

ok. first off, I have own lots of lizards in the past but no snakes.

now I have a ball python. and to me its pretty sick.

when she first got it, it moved alot, flicked itès tongue alot, and ate alot.

now. it hasnèt flicked its tongue for months. and if i look inside its jaw when it opens it, i sometimes see it just dangle in there limp and lifless.

im no expert, but sounds like the tongue is dead.

now i know its due to bad housing. i never wanted the snake. i dont have money for it. i have enough for my lizards but not a snak. right now, it has a frying pan as a water bowl, and cardbord video game bow hideway, some peice of wood I took from another of my lizards, and pine bedding someone gave me.

now it refuses to eat. i know it can be normal, but its been 2 months now it hasnt ate. also its very limp. when she got it, it would wrpe itself arround you tightly and move arround at ease. now it just looses grip, flops on the ground and tries to roll into a ball.

persoanlly i do care about the snake. i rather get rid of it. but i wana know if it can be healed. im trying to bug her like hell to buy the proper equipment. but even if i do get the equipment. (a cave with damp moss, a ceramic water bowl, sand, and heat pad) will it get beter. might its tongue even heal.

it also has alot of dead scales, they seem dried out and flat. he has one on his snouth, and a few on his belly.

any information would help. i hate to see animals die.
