Genetics Question

If I breed an amel bloodred to an amel stripe, am I right in assuming Id get all amels het for bloodred and stripe?

Assuming no het traits, then the above is correct. If you are doing this to try and produce striped amel bloods, it's going to be SUPER difficult. You really can't tell an striped bloodred apart from a striped corn as babies. I almost made that mistake, and it would have tunred in to a 7 year project. (That's how long it would have taken to raise up babies, breed them, keep the hets, raise them up, breed the hets together, raise up the striped babies, and breed them back to a bloodred that doesn't have the strip gene to see which ones ARE definitively bloodreds and which ones AREN't bloodred. On the 7th year, you could finally breed JUST the bloodred striped to bloodred stripeds to have bloodred striped cluthes. Grrrrr.

I'm impatient - I just bought some bloodreds het stripe and pewters het stripe so I can get stripe bloodreds in a year or two without any doubts....lol.

Its not really a project just my best option for this year. My other option would be a male Anery and I thought the stripe amel would be better.
