Calico Question

13lackcat Mar 08, 2007 09:31 AM

I have a young ball that was an extremely nice high gold, and to my surprise I opened the rack this morning to find that he is in shed, but that he has white speckles all over him looking very much like what I've seen calicos look like. I know I have to wait and see what he looks like after he sheds but my question is are calicos born with their coloring or does it develop later? Can he just turn calico overnight? And I've seen the IMGs and that doesn't really look like what I'm describing, I'll get pictures though even if he sheds back out to his normal color.

I think that the white patches on calicos start out as pink on babies and turns white with age.
