earlier when I posted about my breeding progress for the season I mentioned that Sam, my favorite bairdi, had escaped.
Well, last night I was watching Lost, appropriately, and all of a sudden this head comes down in front of the screen. It was Sam...lol

So here is an update of my pairings for the season and a shot of Sam
Odin (anery) and Glacier (snow) hooked up (anerys het amel)
Pippin (normal motley het anery het amel) and Sadie (normal het anery het amel) hooked up
Toast (cinnamon) and Frosty (snow) hooked up
Apollo (stripe cream) and Stripe (stripe cream) hooked up
Aragorn (motley cream) and Katie (cream possibly het motley) hooked up
The male Ultra (from Carol) and Star (creamsicle) hooked up
Jacob (ghost het amel) and Lacy (ghost) hooked up
Makhan (butter possibly het motley) and Venna (butter possibly het motley) hooked up
Strider (cream) and Arwen (cream) hooked up
Gimli (amel motley) and Yeti (snow) hooked up.
Elrond (bairdi) and Laura (bairdi) hooked up.
Pistol Pete (anery het amel het hypo) and Bindi (anery het amel het hypo) hooked up.
Sam (bairdi) and Rosie (bairdi) hooked up
Put Apollo (stripe cream) and Yoda (cream het motley) together. I think they hooked up, not sure, waiting for Yoda to shed to put them back together.
Put Frodo (okeetee) and Ariel (okeetee) together pretty sure they hooked up but waiting for Ariel to shed to put them back together.
Waiting for A&W (rootbeer het hypo)and Shana (Cinnamon) both to
shed so I can put them together.

It sounds as if the snake was practically begging to get your attention!!LOL the way he showed up in front of the TV!!.....I wish they ALL did that when they get loose!!LOL, I'm sure you are very relieved you have it back, and can resume any project(s) you had planned for it!....good deal,..................Doug

Congrats on your recovery!! It is always nice to find them safe and sound.

me on the other hand..

I was going to mention that I also had a snake out and about. One of my ghosts opened his sliding glass door, got out a few days ago. Well, I found him today. I followed the smell. He had tried to wedge himself under a sliding window. I guess he smelled the fresh air or something. I guess once he realized there was no where to go under the window, he tried to turn around back on himself. He got himself wedged in. I assume he suffocated. Really is sad. I had to take the window off to get him out from under it. Poor little guy. I kinda wish snakes could make noise when they were distressed. I would have been able to find him in time!
This is the first snake that escaped that I did not recover safe and sound.

what a bummer Misty. I am sorry to hear about the loss of your ghost.
I have been lucky.
I had an emoryi escape a few months ago and he showed up after about five weeks and now Sam shows up after only a few days.
You would think I would learn not to be so stupid and allow them to escape, huh?

I was thinking the same thing about myself. But, it wasnt my fault. the snake openned its own cage. I have since then put locks on most my sliding doors. Thats only the second snake I have had that was able to open its own sliding door (the other being a ball python), but I figure better safe than sorry.

thanks for everyone's thoughts. Looks like I wont have any ghost babies this year. The escapee was supposed to mate my female ghost this year. Unless, on the off chance he mated her within the two days he was in the cage before escaping. Time will tell.

Sorry for your loss Misty.

I've had my share of accidents and they are never fun.

Hope your female "caught".

Best of luck.

I guess all those good vibes paid off. MY Bairds is still MIA. The FIRST time he escaped, he was gone for 8 months. He seems to find food when MIA, so I hope to see him again some day. :D
