First snakes of 2007

SalS Mar 08, 2007 10:33 PM

I was actually out looking for scorpions when I found two Western Diamondbacks! What suprised me is this is in a urban park outside San Antonio.

This is the first snake I found.

Here is the second snake. It is a lot darker and has a somewhat different pattern.

Here are both of the snakes together. You can see the difference in color and pattern.

This is where I found the second snake. Look in the bottom right corner. My SUV is parked on a dirt road and right behind that is a row of houses.

Sweet! Those kind of surprises are always good ones... if you don't get tagged.

It is definitely starting to pop! When San Antonio starts showing the herps, west Texas can't be too far away.........
