How do you get a climbing branch to stay put in the cage?

If it's glass you can use aquarium silicone. Aquarists use it for quite large rocks so I think it would be ok in a tank. You can get it at Walmart or any pet store.
If it's not glass.. I don't know how they do that. You can drive a bolt through wood or plastic cages though.

Do you know if the aquarium silicone is easy to remove when I need to take the branch out for cleaning or to switch to a new one?

This is what I did. Drilled a hole in each branch and, using tgwist ties, attached suction cups. It works great and are easy to remove when cleaning their cages.

Hope this helped.

So the suction cups and twist ties can hold the weight of the branch & the snake okay?

Sure can. Both of my snakes love it.

I have branches with a bit of flex to them, and use tension of the branch itself to keep it in position
raced wiht other things in the tank (like the hide, or a plant)
this is not just for the BP, but my Dragon as well
