Did the Price Of Oil...

stevenxowens792 Mar 09, 2007 08:21 AM

Also cause the price of Alterna to increase drastically in the
last few days? I noticed some Alterna for Sale in the classifieds... 500 for a pair of 2 year old snakes? These aren't gaps or hueco's either. I just got an adult pair of Sanderson Animals for almost 250 dollars less several weeks ago.

Adult Females for 300..?

This note is NOT INTENDED to offend any quality sellers or anything. Just a legit question on whether Alterna has suddenly gone up in value.

Thanks,

Steven

Compared to the cost of collecting an alterna, $500 for a pair is cheap.

But we do not hunt as a cost effective means of building a colony of animals, we hunt for the thrill and adventure.

But I have to say those are some very premium prices based on what I have seen recently. But in a free and open market anything is worth what somebody else is willing to pay for it. So if they get their asking price, then by all means that is what they were worth.

I think the ad in question is mine.

>The snakes come with a good solid pedigree with pics of the original wc grandparents here in the Alterna archives.
>The male in the pair is a nice bluish type (like the sire) uncommon for east Sanderson.
>Shipping is included and ran 75$.
>An additional 2005 blue female was available for 75$ discounted because she's still a fussy feeder and oddly she went unsold a year ago for 25$.

The same trio went unsold a year ago for much less.
cheers, Jeff
