kfisher29 Mar 09, 2007 10:27 AM

My 06 southerns eating mouse fuzzies already. Has anyone gotten bit by they're hognose from a feeding response? I almost got latched on to the otherday. Kevin

Southerns are definitely on my want list. I got bit by one of my westerns and didn’t even realize it until I tried to get my hand out of the cage. I was moving the water bowl which was next to the pinky.

Great looking Southern! My male tri bites anything that could possibly be food. Except on his feeding day, he's usually ok once he's out and clear on the fact that no food is involved, but he's gone after my fingers when I was typing, and he's latched onto me in a feeding response when I was just holding him several times.

I will never complain, either. Nothing better than a snake that will eat no matter what.

Nice!!! Thats what you want right there,a good eater! I bought several wildcaught tri-colors from babies to adults about 10 years ago only to have every single one shrivle up and die no matter how much they were hydrated and stuff. Its great to see so many healthy c.b. ones now that eat and breed! Kevin

Zee, my tri, is very funny. He is under the impression that ne needs to envenomate his FT prey, so he will hold and chew the belly for about 15-20 minutes before moving to the head to swallow. I'm feeding him double hoppers right now, and it takes a _long_ time for him to eat two.

When he starts:

After he is done envenomating:
