I have done the same thing with the small crix I feed to my turtle. I have gutloded them with turtle pellets. I am not sure what is in the monster food that you fed your crickets, but most commercial pellet type food includes all the calcium and vitimins that are required for good health in the species it is aimed for. Look at the ingredients on the diet and compare them with vitimins and ingredients in a gutload. Are they similar? You can always use romaine to keep the crickets bellies full when u run out of gutload too, though this may not be as efficient as the variety of ingredients in a gutload, it will prevent the crickets from starving and dying.
