Can my Igs eat....

zelda Aug 12, 2003 06:56 AM

Does anyone know if The Forsythia bush is toxic to igs...they produce yellow flowers in the spring and nice long green sprays of leaves afterwards...I often feed it to my bunny and he loves them, anyone know if these are OK...I am in Massachusetts and my yard is covered in them...Lyn

Doesn't really say anywhere but I did find this info. Wasn't sure which type of Forsythia you have..
Forsythia suspensa:
http://www.ibiblio.org/pfaf/cgi-bin/arr_html?Forsythia suspensa&CAN=LATIND
Forsythia x intermedia:
http://www.ibiblio.org/pfaf/cgi-bin/arr_html?Forsythia x intermedia&CAN=LATIND

These were listed as 'Poisonous plants'
Forsythia intermedia Zabel Oleaceae
Forsythia suspensa Vahl Oleaceae
Forsythia viridissima Lindley Oleaceae
