My practice is to change the florescent bulbs in my lights twice a year; I use the changing of the clocks as the timetable, so will be doing it in another couple of months. I just started using UV bulb (Repti 5, I think) when we got Iggie, so was wondering what a normal life they have?

Also, my daughter has a florescent fixture in her bedroom, and I use the old bulbs for replacements when she needs them. (I like to get my money's worth out of these puppies LOL). Do you think using a used UV light is a bad idea? Besides giving her some Vit D, which I doubt would have much affect being the fixture is in the ceiling of the room and would probably not be close enough to do much of anything.

I hate to waste them, but know the potentcy for plant life (in the case of florescents) wears down in about 6-8 months, was wondering if UV's were the same.

Thanks for your thoughts.
