Her first clutch.
Bred a male axanthic X het axanthic.
Pre lay shed on April 19, 2003....32 days till lay.
I felt 7 lumps I see seven eggs. When I pulled her hide box she came up and looked around. No striking. Enjoy....made my day.

Congratulations! Nice clutch. Assuming she hatches all 7 you have a 99.2% chance of getting at least one axanthic. No kidding!

I am looking for the average of 3 axanthics. 50% chance with each egg. Maybe I will get lucky and get seven

Rick...you won't get 7. That's not luck, thats "ralphluck". If you have "joeluck", you'll get 7 normals.....Good luck! Joe

But at least it's comforting to know that there is less than a 1% chance of "joeluck" and getting 7 normals. Plus I forget the formulas to figure out the chances for each number of mutants, I just remember the easy formula for the chance of none:
1 - (chance each egg not mutant) ^ (number of eggs)
You clearly don't have a true understanding of what "joeluck" is all about. You see, I refuse to by a pair of any morph due solely to my 30 years experience with this horrible affliction. I'm quite sure I could buy a pair of piebalds, only to have the enitre clutch undergo a spontaneous mutation to produce beautiful normal ball pythons. The Barkers and Sutherlands can get spontaneous patternless, and Joe gets spontaneous normals. That my friend is how "joeluck" works.....
het to het breedings and luck...
guy I know...had 2 aztecs....he thought...
they were het lavender...he found out later...
first year ...he got 11 lavenders from 16 or 17 eggs...good odds...
later he went to normal odds for a few years...16 eggs or so he would get 5 ,4,7,,,whatever lavenders a year...
then one year ...0.....not one lav from them...
(the odds catch up sooner or later...)...
moral...if you get a bad year...keep going...they'll have to get better.......
