Kenya Sand Boa Help

kohr Mar 09, 2007 08:06 PM

One of my Kenyan Sand Boas has a buldge above the vent about an inch long. It feels hard and like in two pieces. I can also move it. I have noticed from time to time her vent open a little ways. She is a mature female. She has also not eaten for about a month. Otherwise she is normal. I had thought there is a possibility she could be gravid. Now I think it is not likely and that she may be impacted. If this is the case, any suggestions?

Thank You,
Eric Kohr

You can post a few photos?

Also, you might try soaking in shallow warm water, be very careful the water is not to hot, I recommend using a temp gun to double check.

If indeed it is an impaction, and the soaking does not work, I would seek a vet asap.

Also, I would re-post this post on the main rosy/sand/rubber forum...you will get more help there.

I agree try a luke warm bath, and see what happens. I would take to vet just to be sure anyways. Good luck hope all goes well.
