Steve, that's a great looking snake.

Your ratsnakes from se. OK, did you say those were emoryi or guttatus?

Thanks...Terry

Thank you Terry. All of my rats are emoryi, except the Brewster co. Tx. female I have, that I believe some of you all said is an intergrade zone? The one female I had thought was SE Oklahoma turned out not to be from SE Oklahoma. She (pictured below) came from stock that orginates from Troy Hibbits. I had been told SE Oklahoma locality, and if I wanted to know the exact county, email Troy and he would be able to tell me. Well, when I emailed a pic of her, Troy said that my animal looked nothing like the SE Oklahoma animals that had slowinskii influence. So, since there seems to be a mixup there, I have no choice but to drop the SE locality from my 05 female.

Steve, that's still a great looking snake. It looks more like an emoryi now than when I saw it before. I like the Brewster Co. one too. That is a pure emoryi, but with some P. e. meahllmorum influence. From what I've heard, northern Brewster has P. e. emoryi, and southern Brewster has P. e. meahllmorum.

Anyway, I got a snake from Troy that is from se. OK stock, and it looks to be a P. guttatus slowinskii. Thus, the question about yours. Thanks for the comments. Post a pic of the Brewster Co. emoryi sometime.

Regards...Terry

I'd need to see a ventral shot, but those don't look the least bit like southeast OK examples of guttata "complex."

Brewester, along with the rest of the middle half of Texas are considered meallhmorum x emoryi spp intergrades.
