My Black Back Girl a week from laying.

RyanT Mar 10, 2007 12:06 PM

It's not totally obvious since she's such a lean one, but she'll be laying within the next week. Her POS was 2/14. She gave me 7 eggs 2 years ago. She'll actually be laying 1 week earlier this year than she did back in '05. She was bred to a cinnamon pastel. I'll be holding back all of her babies to attempt proving out her pattern as recessive since it didn't prove co-dom before. Just for an interesting project. In my opinion, she rivals some clowns. I have 4 other girls that are just starting to ovulate, so she's an early one. 1 more week then the real wait begins, as they say. Can't wait.

Kind of a blurry pic, BUT, she looks nice and clean, actually a very nice looking snake man! Good luck on proving her out.

PS-I will be looking for a nice female Cinn this year

Yeah I know. Not sure what's going on with the camera. It did turn out blurry. Promise to get better ones next week when she's sitting on top of the clutch. And thanks man, I love her too. I'm not really planning on getting rid of any of the females because I want as many supers as I can handle in 2010, but who knows, maybe I'll end up with a great sex ratio. 2 years ago, this black back gave me 5 males and 1 female 50% het albinos (1 egg died). I really hope she doesn't do that to me again.

I know how you feel, I produce a total of 25 Balls last year, and think only 5 were females, might have been 6, but either way, not great odds. I produced Pastels hoping to get some females to hold back, because I sold the breeder male Pastel, so my new Pastel crosses would be unrelated to any female Pastels I produced, and I only got one female Pastel. I was so bummed, I just sold her. I have a Cinn male coming soon, as soon as the weather gets better, kind of stoked, he will be my first Cinn, and he is a LOOKER.

Very nice! I'm waiting on the POS for my black back! She gave me 5 eggs last year and proved herself co-dom. This year we paired her with a lesser and a pastel 50% het orange ghost.

I guess that should have been dom. I'm hoping maybe she has something else hiding and will breed her back to her son next year if she is still up for consecutive breedings.
