Robyn or FR "Red vs Yellow Ackies"

lance2 Mar 10, 2007 02:55 PM

I have recently purchased a trio of Reds and one of the three is quite lighter. I have read through numerous sites with pics and literature and think the lighter one might be a yellow. Could I please get a second opinion of what these two are.
Thanks

Without question, the upper one(male) is a yellow or yellow cross.

The other is not a good red, it too may be a cross. But it could be, just a weird one.

One common trait of yellows and all topend types is the white down the back. This is totally absent in TRUE reds.

Unfortunately the classifieds is full of mis-identified ackies. What is funny is, its yellows that are oftened called reds. Heres the funny part, Yellows are less expensive. Yet the mis-identified Yellows(called reds) are always the same price as yellows. This makes you think its not an accident. True reds fetch a higher price. If they were indeed true, why not ask the normal price??? Good luck

Here is the third ackie. Its head pattern is a little different from the other you thought was a cross. It was sold as the male of the group. Its approximately 2 inches longer and quite a bit thicker. Does it also look like a cross? Additionally, These were sold as 100% reds . I would appreciate any thoughts.

Read what FR just posted about white stripe. My guess from the two photos is that it's a male.

That is NOT a red ackie, that is the same as the upper one.

I think you have been had. Sorry for that. Cheers
