hey everyone. i have had my read eared slider for a good two months, and it has been fine up until now.

a week ago, i noticed that he started floating to the side when he was in water. his left side was higher than his right side. also, on his left side, his shell is a lot more red than the other side (i dont think that it has always been this red).

also, he has stopped eating and today i noticed a discharge from his nostrils.

what should i do. help!

I'm not a Vet., but this sounds pretty straight forward. It sounds like your turtle has developed an upper respiratory infection with pneumonia. This is the sort of issue that should be treated by a qualified Vet.. Heavy antibiotics, injected fluids, tube feeding, etc. will most likely all be required. The good news is that, with proper treatment, they usually bounce back VERY well!

I wish you the best of luck with this problem.
