Debating on CBB of these two. Is one easier to breed, have a better personality, easier to feed, hardier than another, Or are these two basicaly about the same?

Truly captive bred inviduals only exist in one of the two aforementioned species here within the U.S. Varanus dumerilii are being bred with regularity by Ben Aller, whereas all of the V. rudicollis "CBB" babies you are seeing for sale are all imported, wild caught animals.

Instead of dealing with dealers and distributors (who get most of their animals from importers), why don't you go straight to the source? Buy Captive Bred from the breeder that produced them. If the dealer can't prove their origin with photographs of adults, eggs, and hatching, don't believe the hype.

Check out the website linked below, it will give you plenty of information and access to truly-captive bred rough necks.

I got a dumerilli hatchling from Ben last summer. It's grown like wild and is not a pain to handle, and that's saying something b/c I almost never handle my animals. Just be ready to provide some water for it to swim in, and be ready to keep it clean.
