My new setup

merlin7676 Mar 10, 2007 10:19 PM

Well I am planning on getting a kingsnake (hopefully) at the end of the month so I've been buying bits and pieces here and there. Tonight I set it up so I can start working on getting my temperatures good. Other than adding a live plant or two (thinking of some air plants glued to the wood pieces) it's pretty much done. I like to keep their habitats as natural as I can.

Hey man

What kind of King are you getting ? I wouldnt use Astro Turf as a substrate.. poo gets down into it and it gets disgusting ... Try Aspen or Pine Shavings.. Pine is safe.. Cedar is Bad .. Never use cedar... Snakes really need a loose substrate they can hide in ... Also .. with kings you dont need th eheat .. Depending on where you live .... one light but not too much .. they need cool areas...

Good luck and feel free to ask any Questions !

p.s snakes are addictive ..

Nice looking setup. Those Thermometers NEED to be at ground level, up there they are no good at all.
