Opinions needed...... Especially since I am told I under price

BeginnersBasics Aug 12, 2003 09:06 AM

Ok all, I want some opinions on this little girl. She is 8 months old and 12" STL. I am thinking of listing her, but can't think of a suitable price. She is complete and doesn't have any nips, etc. She is a Sandfire red x German giant and shows what I would consider "rust red". I did not breed this girl..... she is the sister to the boy that started the very popular "color thread".

Any opinions welcomed

I bought both this female and the male (was supposed to be 2 females!!) at 4 months old. They arrived a lot smaller than was expected and were 7" and 8" STL. I do not believe this girl will attain the size of a German giant, but I do think she will improve her color.... then again we never kow for sure! When she arrived she had little to no color at all and looked a "dirty brown" all over. She seems to be improving with every shed.

Just thought this might help with the "pricing" opinions.

Thanks

definately hold onto her until she is 14" and sell her for more. Right now you can try a higher price like $200, but be willing to go down at least $50 or so if need be. But, at 14", I would think (if she keeps her color)that you should be able to get at least $200 for her, maybe $250. If her color improves and more red comes out with age, $350 (at 15"-16"is not unheard of.
But, it boils down to a dragon is worth whatever anyone is willing to spend. A dragon one person doesn't like or doesn't want to pay much for may be "just-the-one" for someone else, who is willing to shuck out serious bucks for her.
Good luck!
Laura

keep in mind that people buying babies are in many cases buying as pets. People buying breedable females are looking to make money and are making an investment. If she has 20 babies her first season, at $20 ea. thats $400. A breedable female of any color as an investment should be worth at least $200.

Thanks all! I have listed her for $150. If she doesn't sell, I will keep her and grow her up a bit more and maybe then raise the price some.... yet again, I may keep her after she grows some more LOL She shows some good potential.
