Best Books?

eminart Mar 11, 2007 10:16 PM

I know you can find all the info you need online, but I enjoy books. Does anybody have any recommendations on which ones to get, or better yet, which ones NOT to get? I'm considering "The Herpetoculture of Leopard Geckos" but it's definitely the priciest leo book I've seen.

That's a good book, but definitely on the upper end of the price scale. If you're looking for something else with good information, but for a bit less money, "The Leopard Gecko Manual" is also a good choice.

It's the best book on the market that is why it is so expensive. I would put forth the money and read it! Alot of great info. Personally the internet has too much debate and i always go by the books.

Eh, you might as well bite the bullet and get it. Or, just wait a few months to see if it maybe comes out in a paperback edition. There are some other good books out there, I have an older one, I don't think it's in print anymore. It's called Geckos: Keeping and Breeding them in Captivity. It has a bunch of different varities of geckos in there, not very informative, but some nice glossy pics and a very quick overview. And as far the internet v books debate goes, I think both are valid sources. As is debate, which is one way new ideas and practices are formed. Plus, I know I've read many information in books that it incorrect. Anyways, there's a lot out there. Try a book website too.
