You couldnt miss this ovulation & theory

STUART Mar 12, 2007 02:01 PM

A couple of weeks ago this girl ovulated (I thought)and then I walked in yesterday to find this outrageous grotesque ovulation. I'm guessing she fired off the other ovary a couple weeks ago, and now she is working on this side. The only other time I saw an ovulation this big was last year and my female didn't make it through she died 2 or 3 days into it. So I'm hoping this girl goes smoothly, and the male did his job right! Incidentally anyone have any opinions to the fact that large ovulations=good babies and smaller ovulations= bad babies? Ive just started to notice that when my females have tiny ovulations lots of slugs are involved hmmmmm. Any comments on that?
By the way she was bred to an arabesque het albino, the same one that produced some amazing albino arabesques and arabesques 2 years ago so Im hoping for a great litter from her.

The biggest ovulation we ever had resulted in all slugs....Obviously we all hope that your case will be different.

Well I've never seen any differences with big or small ovulations with my biggest litter being 51 live babies... I've seen a difference though over the years with slugs and kinks and still borns only with having a higher minimum temperature of incubation. ( Its litteraly day and night )There is a minimum temperature to respect in my book regarding , fertlisation , slugs, kinks , deformities and stillborns.

But here is something very similar with this about 8- 9 feet female of about 40 lbs...

The whole story on this thread... Deception included if you have some time to read.

I estimated the follicules matured in total after the second ovualtion to around 70 maybe more... It is the biggest number of mature follicules i've seen since I breed boas.

Here's a pic but you can see more with the story at the link i posted further up ... You can see all the energy in this pic that was litteraly drawn out of the female from the first one to the second ovulation...
