I was wondering if anyone who has pictures of their set ups could post them? I'm interested in seeing what everyone has out there!
Thanks ;o )

What kind of substrate are you using?

LeoLady420 Mar 13, 2007 08:15 AM

Looks like tile to me.....I use paper towels....Not sure if i have any good close ups.....No sorry but i will get you some tonight hopefully. In my largest females tank she weighs about 97g and she has reptile carpet, everyone else i use papertowels with.

yeh i use tile and i just started doing something else i put celliphane down not sure if thats how u spell it i put it down on the side where they go to the bathroom so its easy to clean i jus take the celliphane off and replace it just a idea i started using works pretty good

Where did you get the tile chief? Also, how did you cut it so it fits perfectly? I just switched to astro turf from calci-sand but people are telling me that it will start to smell rather fast. Cleaning seems like it would be easier on tile than it would for astro turf.

Just use vinyl tile you can cut it with scissors to make it fit perfect

Home depot, Lowes ace any hardware store should have tile for you to use.

And I'm pretty sure they'll cut it for you there too. Just do your measurements before you go.

Hi
I was looking at Jay's set-up and was wondering do the leopard geckos like to have their own seperate hide. I have 2 small leos and only one hide. should I get more? I do like the ramp with the upper level, it gives me some good ideas to work with.
Oh, how well does the heat get through the tile? what temp should I have on the actual surface of my substrate where the leos lay?

Yes you should actaully have 4 hides 2 hides to every leo. Heat comes through fine. Temps should be 85-90 hot side and 70-75 cool side. Leos need more belly heat then anything.

thank you

LeoLady420 Mar 15, 2007 09:21 AM

Very welcome!! Good luck!

JayM713 Mar 15, 2007 03:32 PM

Dont just use one tile though bc the heat will come through too much i think i ended up using 2 or 3 and the heat still gets thru but one it gets way to hot

LeoLady420 Mar 16, 2007 08:07 AM

I use papertowels, so i have never used tile, Good luck!! i hope all goes well.
