Peruvian Rainbow Boas. PICs

Jeff Clark Mar 13, 2007 10:59 PM

Peruvian Rainbow Boas, Epicrates cenchria gaigei. These are some 18 month old ones produced by Craig McSherry. The identifying features of this subspecies are the big scales with corresponding low scale counts, large size, and thick distinct very dark markings. Most of the "Peruvian" specimens offered for sale are actually Brazilian Rainbow Boas with higher scale counts and less intense dark markings.

Amazing animals Jeff..
Next time you have the camera out, would you shoot a Peruvian and a similiar sized Brazilian together? I have seen Pervians.. and I have lots of Brazilians.. but never a side/side comparison.
