Gestation duration for CA boas

BOtt Mar 13, 2007 11:35 PM

Does anyone have any info/experience with the length of time from the POS to paturition? I would expect it to be a little shorter than the Colombians, but have not seen any data on that.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There is no difference in time , you "incubate the female" just like any other local ,just like you incubate eggs from egg laying snakes. You can have differences in time just by incubating higher or at lower temperatures.

Hi Brian. I only have one pregnancy to go by, and it was 89 days POS for my Costa Rican/Mexican female last year. She is prego again and just had her POS today which would put her due date as mid-June (based again on 89 days POS). About 2-3 days before she gave birth last year, my girl had some very definite behavior changes, most noticeable being nesting behavior so keep an eye out for such things as your boa gets up in gestation days. Good luck with your girl!
