I applaud deb and el toro for acknowledging use of dried grasses. I sometimes use ground hay on their food. But since
they are in captivity- not so much for fear of the unknown. How is Bermuda Grass? how often do you offer these types of grasses it or is it a "fixture" in the cage like a seed bowl? How often do they poop? I respect your opinions.

If Debb replies here, I'd listen to whatever she says any day over me. I'm using it because she had talked about it a while back, so it all goes back to her anyway.

I get the hay cakes from Oxbow (timothy hay), grind them up a bit to loosen the cakes in a coffee grinder, and sprinkle them into salads. I don't use a dry food bowl since they kick it full of substrate in about two seconds. All dry foods (seeds, grass, lentils, etc) get added to salads as toppers. I also found they wouldn't eat the hay by itself - they mostly eat it as it sticks to the damp greens and squashes.

Don't know anything about Bermuda grass.
