Last year I had several worms that formed cocoons and later emerged as moths. They laid several eggs on some silk plants in the terrarium and I just cut these off and placed them in the refrigerator in a petri dish for a few months.

When I took them out and tried to hatch them there were 2-3 dozen that hatched. There were probably 500-1000 eggs in all so not a very good hatch rate by any means. However, I was happy that any of them hatched at all.

I would think that if more care were taken in caring for the cocoons and if I knew how long they should be kept cold I might have had a better rate but am not sure. I usually just by the eggs from a supplier and feed them off. These were the result of worms in the viv that the reptiles didn't eat.
