These were found last summer in Southern Indiana at Clifty Falls State Park

I believe this to just be a common garter snake Thamnophis sirtalis

This I am not completely sure of. I know it is a garter snake, but is it also a common garter snake?

what kind of water snake is this? Is it a diamondback water snake?

would this be a black rat snake in the tree?

The water snake is not a diamondback, I would guess it to be a northern water snake but I don't know for sure.

The black snake does look like a rat snake too.

2 Common Gartersnakes
1 Northern Watersnake

The last one is probably a black rat, but I am troubled by the pattern I see at the edge of the ventrals.

Yeah Clifty Falls is really neat. A lot of good trails. I haven't been there all that many times but I will say that every time I've been there I've come across a snake without even looking. Just luck I guess, because when I look I never find . Mostly Garters, some water snakes down by the river, my brother was lucky enough to come across a northern copperhead setting in the middle of a trail. I've also come across some skinks and an eastern box turtle as well. So do you live near there, in Indiana or Kentucky?

i live in Indiana. i have heard that there are still quite a few copperheads @ Clifty. I have seen them in southern IND but further west in Harrison County area.
