Is it normal for a gavid female to shed?

I got a female that had a what I believed to be a pos on 01-16-07.
She was with a hypo male and locked up for a while and appeared to swell about one and a half normal size a few weeks before the shed.
She used to be a very aggressive feeder and went off of food for a while after what I believed to be the pos. Well she just shed again last night and was very active so I offered a small rat ( she's over 6 foot). After a while of investigating the rat she took it. I know some females will eat after becoming gravid but will they shed again? Thanks for your time and comments.
