I have recently gained in interest(most likely temporary, but what the heck lol) in keeping an American Bullfrog after seeing one on a website devour a live mouse. I have a REPTILES issue discussing keeping them...but would appreciate any advice from the American bullfrog keepers here on how to keep them(or any informational sites).

For the moment, enjoy a pic of my Colombian Rainbow boa lol.

They hop like absolute bastards, especially if wild caught. Fairly easy to spook. So you'd need like a 30 gallon, preferably a 55 gallon with a half and half set up with water. Treat the water and replace it every few days, filters help. Overall, they need a decent amount of room and alot of water and plenty of food, Id personally say go with a pyxie, theyre bigger, fatter, less active, and eat like maniacs. Good luck man.

go with a pyxie frog. but remember that an impulse by isnever a good thing make sure you know what you are getting yourself into, a "what the heck" attitude with animals wont get you far

I have never made an impulse purchase with an animal..and I don't plan to.

Very often I get impulses to buy new herps, then I start researching the care needed. The interest then fades, and I don't get the herp. I'm sure this has happened to many of you fellow herp-keepers lol.
