bpetty13 Mar 15, 2007 11:18 PM

just wanted to say hey to everyone. im kinda new here. i just purchased a trio of d. lamasi and will receive them on tuesday. anyways they will be going into a 10 gallon hex terrarium with 4 broms. my question is how social and territorial are lamasi? should i worry much about them being aggressive to each other? also any other info regarding lamasi is much appreciated. well thanks and i hope to talk to many of you on the forum in the near future. thanks

That's kinda small for 3 thumbs..

I agree, they may be small frogs, but they still like to have some space. Imagine living with three full grown humans in a bedroom. You'd be bumping into each other all the time. The general rule of thumb is five gallons per frog, so you'll want at least a 15 gallon tank.

what do you guys think about the exo terra tank?

bpetty13 Mar 16, 2007 05:05 PM

nevermind on the exo terra. i looked at one and decided against them. anyways im gonna have to keep the trio of lamasi in the 10 hex for 2 months till i get home from school and can get them something bigger.

They will be fine in a 10 gallon for a couple of months. If they have enough room, they will get along together.

Hey All,

Patty is absolutely right. I recently purchased a trio of Lamasi and I do keep them in a 10gallon, heavely planted vivarium. I have not had one problem at all. Granted they love to be on the very top of the vivarium but on several occasions I have seen them on the floor sharing a leaf and all sleep every night within a few inches of eachother. I dont think you'll have a problem, but incase you notice some weird behavior.........Blame Patty!!!! j/k
