Andean yearling

mattcbiker Mar 16, 2007 09:10 AM

This little guy is a nice snake. Not as an aggressive an eater as my black milk, as he will occasionally refuse meals and is more skittish. Very calm disposition. Very similar to black milks in that way ... never has musked or pooped in the year I have had him. A year ago this guy was about the same size as the Black Milks shown below, but you can see that they've seriously outsized him now. They eat a lot more!

Nice "andesiana"!,....I think these snakes are somewhat underated, due to the fact that they aren't quite as "clean" and vivid as some of the other milksnakes.....a decade or more ago, these were extremely rare in the hobby, and were quite expensive! ...............this young male had the appetite of a "trash can"! and even for the photo, he's wondering if there's a tasty mouse in it for him!.......he's a juvenile in this older photo(taken many years ago)...and was sold last year as a large adult..................................Doug

Wow he is quite the looker! I really like the mix of colors mine has, especially the blend of black, red, orange and white on his face.

Those are just awesome. Love the pattern and high red. I'd love to see it as it gets larger as an adult!!

Great andeans everyone! You don't see people talking about them alot... I'm receiving some het-inca and inca andeans this week. Can't wait to see the little buggers.

Just out of curiosity. What is the average lenght of everyones andeans? I hear everywhere that they are one the largest milks. Yet I have seen very few specimen above 6 feet... That would make the black milk and the hondo bigger...
