Cool snakes, they look a lot like what you find here in Ontario. Are they very common compared to other snakes there?

wayne13114 Mar 16, 2007 02:28 PM

They are locally abundant, some areas have tons where as some others they are far and few between, the key is habitat it if looks like miklsnake turf it usually is. I set some AC up to check an area, within a week or two they usually start to appear, also check it in the AM or dusk. illegal dumpsites are goldmines for em

AC is artificial cover. pretty much means trash set in strategic locations, that snakes utilize for cover. most people use tin. as it hold heat and helps reptiles thermoregulate. and others use wood

ok ive just never seen anyone abbreviate it before. i do the same with heavy black rubber sheets, the only problem with that is you gotta keep it in thicker veggitation or too much moisture builds up underneath and all youll find are worms...lol

Some of those are really nice looking. I own a weekend/hunting house (though i don't hunt) just outside of Roscoe, NY and i catch Easerns all the time..

I don't know why I have never kept one??
