Indian Star Box Turtles?

PATMAN Mar 16, 2007 02:37 PM

OK, I'm just messing with you guys!

We all know there are no such things as Indian Star box turtles!

I did want to share with you some pictures of the newest members of my growing turtle & tortoise family.

These 1.1 Indian Stars TORTOISES arrived yesterday and brightened up an otherwise rainy Pennsylvania day for me!

They are around 5 inches long and being captive born, show some pyramiding.

I hope you don't mind that I posted these on the box turtle forum, but I think you'll agree... their amazing!

Very pretty! You must have hit the lottery. Nice, healthy looking torts.

I'm pretty sure that the slight degree of pyramiding you're seeing in those animals is fairly natural in that species.

Beautiful!
Hey ya know the first time I saw a picture of an Indian Star in a book 30 some years ago I thought wow what kind of box turtle is that?
LOL
They are so pretty!

I have always wanted a star tortoise, or two! These two are lovely! Will you breed them? Good luck and remember, humidity plays as big (if not bigger) part in pyramiding, as does excess protein

Thanks Tess!

Yes, I want to breed them. In fact the male was trying to mount the female yesterday. I'm not sure if they are of sexual maturity yet as I do not know their age. They are 4 and 5 inches long right now.
