Black rough-necks~ whose hatched them?

JM Mar 16, 2007 05:34 PM

I asked about this some time ago and my understanding at that time was that several people had gotten eggs from Black rough-neck monitors (Varanus rudicollis)~ but that no one had succeeded in hatching them yet. Well~ I recently made that very statement in some advertisements and I've gotten a couple people tell me that it has been done. If thats the case I am very interested.

I was told this morning(second hand) that someone by the user name "Gaboon" (or something like that) had actually gotten eggs to hatch. I think I remember that name from here~ is that person still here and did he/she actually succeed in Captive Born and Bred babies?

A guy named "Matthew Schaefer" told me yesterday the he and JP Shadows (I saw that user name here today) had also succeeded in Captive Born and Bred baby Rudi's.

Is this true?
If so~ would y'all maybe share the incubation tempature and medium that was successful?
How about pics?
I think this is very exciting if true!

Dragoon, Posted here, had successfully hatched eggs from many clutches. IT had also been done in several zoos.

Getting eggs for rudis or any monitor is very very easy, hatching them is not. Its here where most fail.

With that in mind, several here recieved eggs but not babies.

I was going to get CB rudis from Goon, but that did not come about. I am still waiting. Cheers

Thank you very much Frank. Thats what I was looking for. Some confirmation. For some reason I was under the impression the actual hatching had not been successful yet, and when I asked the one man who told me HE had done it for pics.....well.......

I also got eggs~
And I also was not able to hatch them!
Glad to hear someone actually did though!
