Bullseye and yellow albino genenitcs

beardedsbloods Mar 16, 2007 07:26 PM

I am new to the milksnake world. Well I really like the albino bullseye, the yellow albino now are these traits recessive? I keep balls and leopard geckos now but would like to add some of these milk to my collection.
Thanks
Kevin

Milk snakes are really awesome snakes, there are twice as many morphs for milks as there are for ball pythons so I doubt you'll have a problem finding something that really strikes you as something you want. Now I'm not sure who exactly is working with albino bullseyes but I would guess that one of the more experienced milksnake guys will point you in the right direction.
You made a good choice with milks, I think you'll regret not having gotten one sooner.

The "bullseye" trait is indeed recessive, but I'm not sure about the "yellow" thing with "nelsoni", I can't remember who has any "bullseyes" right off the bat, if you look at some posts around a month ago or so, there were a couple awesome ones posted!.......but "tspuckler" who frequently posts on this forum(Third Eye herptile propagation) had a photo of an outstanding adult yellow-albino "nelsoni" posted not long ago!, he and some others should be able to help you out......................Doug

Thanks, I am trying to read up on them and also like to get some of the bullseye or albino. The tangerine albino is nice also. Yes I have looked at Tims and some nice animals as well as some nice ones everyone has posted here also.

One thing to keep in mind is that the "yellow" (I assume you mean where the bands that are normally black are yellow in albino Nelson's) is not apparent in hatchlings and young snakes. As the snake ages, the bands go through a "color shift" where the yellow bands change to white and the white bands change to yellow.

I highly recommend Nelson's as a starter milk snake!
