Since Leopard Geckos are nocturnal, do they see better with the lights off? Should I feed them with the lights off???

so i am kinda new to this myself but i have had my gecko for a little bit now and he comes out with both the light on and off..i however...i have a RED light now and less the 5 minutes after i turn it on at night he is out and hunting..and i was told (on this site) that red lights are better then blue or black...so that what i do...don't know if this is going to help you at all but..it's something..

Yes they do. That is also another reason why they say that red bulbs are best it doesn't affect their eyes.

They really do not see better at night... They see just fine during the day... Nocturnal means they are mostly active at night it does not mean they see better without the lights... Nor does it mean they are not active during the daylight hours...

Feeding them at night would be a good idea because it is the time when they are most active...

Personally, I have never seen a difference in feeding responce during the day or at night in any of my leos (180 )... They eat just as good during the day as they do at night...
