Finally Finished!

phiber_optikx Mar 17, 2007 01:18 AM

And it's about Freakin time! I am no carpenter. I started this project thinking it would be a fun little 2 hour project and come out beautifully. About 1/2 way through and 6 wrong cuts on the wood my attitude had changed Basically I got the "Well I'll just throw all this crap together and get it finished!"
So here is the finished product which isn't too bad.

The cage in its entirety

The built in hide and the "cool side" vent

The cord keeper which I was very happy to have thought of.

The lock (one on top and one on bottom)

The light bulb and warm side vent. I will put the light bulb cover on as soon as it cures.

And one of Molly just because. You never realise just how dirty the glass is until you take a picture

I figure 4'X2'X2' should be big enough for a 3' black rat.
Now just 2 more to build! Let's just pray I don't shoot myself

looks good, you may want to cover that bulb with some wire/mesh so the snake can not burm themselves

The light bulb cover is currently curing. As soon as it doesn't smell I will put it on. It is only a 15 watt bulb so I doubt she could burn herself. I am concerned about it breaking if she gets on it though.

Molly actually doesn't get it. Molly is finding a new home after this season.

I would be glad to! They aren't as orange as they once were..... I asked Jolliff what he thought they were when they were young and he said orange albino. But the last few months they have been getting lighter and lighter. It is odd because I have a pic of the mother and the father. And I liked them both (they look completely different than each other) The mother is almost snow white whith bright orange patterning on the head and 1/4 the way down the body. The father was a very light ground color with deep orange pattern all the way down. It is funny because with every shed my female looks more like her mother and my male looks more like his father. Here are pics of the parents although they do not belong to me and I would credit the breeder but can't recall his name.... BTW I know they are small I can't get them bigger...

And here are Peaches and Chunk
