New Thayeri!

waspinator421 Mar 17, 2007 01:44 AM

Hello everyone! I picked up a trio of '06 thayeri recently and finally got some pics today. I bought the trio to get the one female that I really wanted, so will most likely be selling the other two. Who knows, though, they may hang around a bit longer than expected!

The first one is Zoot, a little pin-banded female. She is the one I bought the trio for. I just love the little bow-tie on her neck!

This next one is the other female.

And this last one is the little male. He was just barely getting blue in these pictures, so he's not looking his best.

Man, it's hard to beleive that my '05 thayeri were ever this tiny! I remember when I first got Korben, he didn't cover the bottom of the deli cup, now he wouldn't even fit in one! I'm happy that I'll get to watch Zoot grow up too.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Hi Aubrey!

Love your excitement, congrats on your new additions and the photos are great! Your new little female looks superb and she looks very healthy too. The pinner male that is opaque has a nice pattern as well, I'd bet he looks great when he's all grown up. They look like siblings, are they?

Thanks for the compliments, Mike! I don't know for sure if they are siblings, but I think they are. I am still waiting on those specific details. The guy I got them from wasn't the breeder, so he's getting the info for me.

Those are all nice looking thayeri. Do you mind me asking where they came from? Are they related? Congrats on your trio.

Thanks Chris! I got them from Larry Briggs at Rock Canyon Ranch. He said he picked them up along with some other thayeri at a show. I think he said the breeder's name was Alec Westerbrook (sp?). I talked to him on the phone, so that is why I am unsure of the spelling. He says he'll get back to me with the more specific details on them, so I should know for sure whether or not they are siblings later on.

Aubrey,

Just a guess, but I bet the breeder was Alec Estabrooks at Peace River Herps. If it was, he has some nice stock. Good find.

Ah, that could be it! Like I said, it is hard to remember everything in phone conversations. I'll verify it with Larry. Thanks very much!

Ok, just got a call from Larry. He says he's pretty sure he got the pin-bands from Alec, but can't be 100% certain. He can't remember where the other female came from. The two pin-bandeds are siblings, and they are late (Nov-ish) '06's.

Hope that clears things up a little bit at least. I'm glad I got some more info for my records.

Aubrey,

Go to peaceriverherps dot com, check things out and e-mail Alec with photos to confirm, if you haven't already. Looks like your thayeri could indeed be from him by the looks of the few he has photos of on his site. Good luck!

Thanks Mike. I did end up contacting Alec and he says that they really look like they could be from him. Unfortunately he can't be 100% positive, though. Oh well, I'll just label them as "most likely from Alec Estabrooks" in my records.

Thanks for the kind words, Adam! Yeah, it's gonna be hard to let go of the other two. It seems thayeri grow on you pretty quick, even if you tell yourself you're not gonna keep them!

Congrats on the new camera! Have fun taking pictures!

i got the Canon A550, it has 7.1 megapixels and 4x optical zoom it takes real nice photos so far, but i have only played with it for about 5 minutes (i had to go to work, bummer) i am going to take a ton of photos tonight and get them ready to post sometime between tomorrow and monday, i have to work tomorrow also on my day off. but i took a really nice pic this morning of the MSP i got from you. soon enough i will get all new pics up. i kept breaking my nikon like a doofus, so i just bought a new one (and got it insured for 2 years). have a good day

Awesome lookin snakes Aubrey. Those thin banded ones will throw some killer babies when bred to the ones you have now. Don't be kidding yourself thinking you're going to sell the other two. lol. You're just prolonging the obvious. They're there to stay.
