mice/rat tubs

strictly4fun Mar 18, 2007 09:08 AM

Hello everyone, never posted here before but I plan on buying some tubs that will be mainly be used by rats but a few will have some mice every once in awhile but I am looking for 5 inch trays and have only found them at freedom breeder. They are only about $10.00 a piece but was unable to find any other tub out there, so is this my only option? They seem well worth it but I only plan to buy once so I just to see all my options. Any info would greatly be appreciated.

A lot of people use mortar mixing tubs from Home Depot or Lowes. 27x20x6 for about $5 and if you can find the larger ones, 36x24x8 for $11 or so. Not positive on the larger width dimension.

Thanks for the reply and yes I did find those $5.00 mixing tubs which will serve as my birthing tubs but really wanted to find those much larger mixing tubs to house the breeders but unfortunately have not found them yet. Thanks again for the reply.

Keep checking Home Depot, some people have been told they are a seasonal item and now as spring is coming they might show up again,

Menards also has some really big ones but they are ridged so might not be optimal for rats.
