Boa not eating. Is this normal?

snakesnmore Mar 18, 2007 09:44 AM

I have a 5ft boa that hasn't eaten in a month. She stopped eating before she shed and hasn't eaten since. Temps and humidity are fine and there are no signs of any other problems. She is very active and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong. I got her as a rescue about three months ago and she was eating frozen rats just fine. I've tried both live and frozen rats and she has no interest in them. Just a little worried cause she does seem a little skinny. Any suggestions or comments?
Thank you

as long as she is eating I wouldn't be too concerned. Try to offer pre-killed and leave it in overnight in a dark cage. That may help or put her in a shoe box with a pre-kill rat. Also chick are good for picking up weight although she doesn't appear to be overweight.
