I was told to replace the UV emitting flourescent lamp - what did they say - after about 1/2 or 3/4 of a year because they put out less UVB over time of use. Is this true? In the tank where I keep my red-eared slider and eastern painted, I have not replaced it for about 1.5 years now.

I replace mine once a year, but I keep my Eastern outside in the summer. Terry
