very small hatchling advice?

WildBill Aug 12, 2003 03:15 PM

Had a baby hatch yesterday that is the smallest I have ever seen. It hatched from an egg that I thought was dried up ( I just hadn't pulled it out of the incubator yet). It is fully formed and active, just very small and thin. I've got it set up like any other baby, and was wondering if anyone had any advice or suggestions. The pet stores where I live don't carry small crickets very often , so I'm hoping I can find some. Any help is apprieciated (probably didn't spell that right). Thanks.
By the way, the other egg from that pair hatched today, normal sized and healthy.

Hi, My suggestion would be to feed pin heads but since your local petshop does not carry them. Either get medium and break off the legs on them so it doesn't squirm, or feed it tiny mealworms. BTW Congrats and do you have an instant messenger?

I hatched one like that too...She came from one of the biggest eggs in my incubator...but she's the tiniest little one XD

She's doing fine on mealworms and crix. I fed her baby mealworms when she had first shed. She ate some crix later that week. She's a pretty voracious little girl...just tiny. =3
At three months she's the same size as my 4 week old albino.

Pinhead crix should be fine. Maybe do what gex15 suggested and pinch the hind legs off. They can eat more than you think sometimes =3

Good luck with her
