Hey guys. This is my first post in this forum.
Pete is from England, and he came to AZ to find a Western Diamondback. Sadly, he's had no luck on his own and he asked our herp association for help. We got a group of people together to try and find poor Pete an atrox. Sadly for him, there were none to be found (it's awful dry out right now). Luckily for the rest of us, there were other distractions to take our minds off of his plight!
First off, this little one caught my eye. Couldn't get an accurate I.D. I'm thinking baby Desert Iggy?
We walked and climbed along fruitlessly for about two hours as the temps started rising, and then at 11:05 am, my wife sits down for a break. I join her, and as I look around...my first Rosy Boa is 5 feet away!!!
I soon realized that I had not brought a sacrifice along to thank the Herp Gods, so my friend Jeff was offered. He went down like a champ, taking pictures to the bitter end!
Mere minutes later, Jeff somehow came back only to bring us another choice offering from the Herp Gods...a Gila!!
Well, that's all I have. Oscar, Jeff and Pete went on to push their luck elsewhere. Pete might be leaving AZ without having seen an atrox, but a Rosy Boa and a Gila Monster aren't too shabby of a consolation prize...
Tiffany(my wife), Steve, and myself went home and called it a day. A rather good day. Thanks everybody!
