What kind of snake is this??

schizmsgrl Mar 19, 2007 12:34 AM

A friend of mine who lives in Florida took a picture of this snake just recently at turkey creek in the panhandles of Florida.

He says that he has seen this snake a few times before in that same very log, but this was the first time he had his cam with him. Is there anybody who can tell us what kind of snake that might be from just the head shot?

Many thanks in advance!! =)

Although it hard to tell, I think this is a brown watersnake. It is defineatley not venomous.

It is definitely a harmless Watersnake (genus Nerodia), but I couldn't say which species from that photo.
