Will a baby corn snake touch a rotten a funky smelling pinkie mouse?

blaino_murph Aug 12, 2003 04:00 PM

To me it smells weird or like rotten leather. Do they actually like that smell? Are snakes scavengers? I don't have cacli-sand anymore. I put newspaper on the bottom of the cage. Got him fresh water. And one hide-box (tree log). Will a UTH's heat go through newspaper or aspen? Will a baby corn snake eat a baby anole?

I would be the first to say have patience. But you are not for real. If this was not an internet sight I would say that you were part of Candid Camera.

I dont post here very much anymore, but I have been following this story since it started.
I am glad you are heeding SOME advice (about the calci sand and newspaper)but you are not really listening to the most important part, PLEASE LEAVE YOUR SNAKE ALONE!!!! for at least a week! If you cannot do this, please give the snake to someone else. I am not trying to be negative or mean, but you seriously need to listen to the VERY good advice being given to you. Everyone here is being pretty patient with you, but I recall a temper tantrum you threw, you told someone to "shut up", that is just not cool, we are trying to help you.

Now, do you really need all those pictures you were asking for? You don't need pics of all of our feeding boxes and setups, you need to do your own research, and I know that includes this forum, but I think you are abusing it. Go out, get Kathy Loves book, buy a BUNCH of corn snake books, look at websites! All you have to do is punch in corn snake in a search engin and you get TONS of sites.
To answer your question, to your snake the mouse smells like mouse. And snakes have been known to eat carrion in the wild. Of course, please do not use rotten mice, if it is fresh thawed from a reliable source you should not have a problem.

PLEASE leave the snake alone for seven days!
