what kind of snake that was that was in the pressbox at the mets game last week?

I don't know. I did a search for it and I could only find one picture and it was way too small to see anything. I would guess it was a rat snake since someone picked it up to be released. I can't imagine a black racer cooperating enough for that!

That's the whole problem with snakes and the "general" public! no one knows, or cares about what kind it is!.......the ONLY thing important to them,..is that .......IT'S A SNAKE, that happens to be black!lol..........you would think that out of the thousands of people there, the reporter would want to get the "TYPE" of snake as well!........but it just isn't the case, they just like the fact that they can report a snake in the pressbox for whatever "shock-value" it might be worth!lol......in any case, like previously mentioned, it was more than likely a young Black Ratsnake searching for small rodents...........I also could only find a VERY small photo from far away..............................................Doug

I was pretty sure from the few views I saw that it was a black racer. It did not look thick enough to be a black rat.

Yeah it looks like a black racer to me. I was comparing pics and its way slim like a black racer. But hey it could have been a malnourished black rat. Who knows. I do know that i wish i would have been there to catch it. That was a snake education opp if there ever was one.
