like she's already been bred
LOL.
I have a couple of females that can't push themselves away from the dinner table too. If they were people I think that song "Fat bottom girls" would apply. Good luck with Evelyn this year Adam.

I recently raised up a really nice buckskin female from 2004. She was huge last summer at 3.5 feet and eating large adult mice or small rats. Well I gave into her desires to be a FBG and ultimately paid the price. I bred her last summer and she was packed with eggs. She laid three duds and retain the rest. Over 6 months time she past another four or five slugs and then kept the rest inside her. Oddly enough she continued to eat regularly and pass/poop the food as if nothing were wrong. She will never breed again.
If I were you guys I'd not give into the temptation of a FBG or you might find yourself in the same boat. After 2.5 years time of feeding and raising, losing a gal like that was no fun.
Russ
I agree. I've put my FBG's on diet mice. LOL
I also noticed that one of them only lost 4 grams of weight during brumation and the other only lost 6 grams.

let me guess.... the diet mice have less furr?
No they're just more filling.
Less fur.....more filling,......less fur.....more filling.

She only gets fed once a week either 2 hoppers or a mouse, i dont think that is too much. plus she is all muscle and very strong, what are your feedign scheduals and amounts?

I used to use Butterscotch as the dumping ground for any left over mice my other snakes wouldn't eat. Not any more. She could/would eat up to 4 mice if I let her. Now she only gets one mouse every ten days or so. She can be a real chow hound. She's now on the Nutri-system rodent diet plan
You tend to see alot of corn snakes get those buldges near their vent when they are putting on the weight. Kingsnakes can do the same thing. It's just something to watch out for.
You can see a bit of that here in this pic of Butterscotch

Yeah Evelyn has never really had a "neck", always been a thick girl. anyway i have only fed her twice out of brumation, goes to show that she didnt loose too much weight, although she did get fed well before she was put in.
Adam
Heres the girl i got from you

You can certainly tell she's Big Yeller's little girl, thick bodied like her father and muscular. Pay attention to what Russ is telling you though, don't let her get too heavy now that she's mature. I know how she is, she'll pack down everything in sight. Have you introduced her to one of your males yet?
Color accuracy in the pics looks good Adam.

Mike
yeah the other day i introduced her, nothing really took place, they just kinda checked each other out, but there wasnt any aggression which was nice. i figuered it might be alittle early but i would give it a shot.
