Anyone ordered from Bushmaster?

truch Mar 19, 2007 06:31 PM

Curiosity question for those who've bought Green-faced Tree Wyrms (Chondros) from the Indonesian farm:

Do you have to own a store or have some kind of wholesaling license to buy from them?

Or do you just have to order over a certain quantity?

Any info would be great, including how your Wyrms turned out --

Thanks, truch.

As far as I know, they're not accepting new customers. With the popularity of chondros growing, I would imagine they sell out without any effort, well before they are even available. I know of many people that have ordered from them, but don't know of the requirements. Sorry if this isn't of any help.

Thanks Brandon -- I'm working with Balls right now but am going to expand to Tree Wyrms this summer so was starting to look to pick up some breeding stock...

There's quite a few cbb animals for sale here that are reasonable priced without all the hassles the imports bring.

They have good stuff-gotta spend over 400 and not refer to them as wyrms. I think calling them tree wyrms will put you on the "never letting this guy buy from me EVER" list. This list is real and you do not want to be on it.

Thanks for the input -- so to order from Bushmaster you do not necessarily have to have a wholesale certificate -- I can work with that -- my idea was to use Bushmaster only as a way to diversify stock or bring in new blood in which to breed to captive bred/ designer chondros...

...I was referring to them as wyrms as a joke (playing on the definition of a "legendary serpent-like creature" which is a pretty adequate description for a snake as cool as chondros...

Do you have any experience working with GTPs? Because farm bred animals are a great way to add diversity to your collection but they tend to be a bit more sensitive and unforgiving of keeper errors when compared to captive born animals. Kamuran is a great guy and I have spent a lot of money with him in the past on species of interest, but he probably really does not have the time to couch the inexperienced keeper compared to buying an animal from a breeder who really wants to see you succeed with your new acquisition. Either way good luck

I bought a bunch (Meraukes, Sorongs, Manokwaris, Lerehs, Jayapuras) that came to me as babies directly from Bushmaster.

I took stool samples to Dr. Stahl and all were clean - no parasites. I was lucky - Kamuran told me personally on the phone that the water in the facility is not exactly the cleanest and that has passed on bugs to some of the baby chondro's at the facility. I assume that some non-feeders are fed lizards as well.

Kamuran told me that most start right away on pink mice.

Anyway, I have had mine since last September and all are very vigorous and thriving. Personally - I would never consider paying some of the prices I have seen for chondro's when Bushmaster is so resonable. The Bushmaster snakes, in my experience, are totally healthy - just make sure you take the time and the $20 to get a fecal check at your vet.

Don't take my word for it though - go to my site and check out some of the pictures.

You don't need anything special to order from Bushmaster - just $400 shipping for the minimum order. Kamuran told me this week that he will start having babies available again in September. You need to call them or send them an email to get on the email list for his weekly pricelist.
